  7. POSITIVE EXPERIENCES Project management Implementation of credit recognition at HUST International student management International co – operation network with regional and EU universities

DIFFICULTIES • Application Process • Lack of English based courses provided by hosting institutes • Psychology of Vietnamese parents: preferring a degree seeking program to an exchange program Visa Problems: Too long and complicated • For Incomings: Extending the visa every 3 months • For Outgoings: More than 2 months to apply for Portuguese visa in Bangkok • Financial problems Long procedure for transferring money from Europe to Vietnam troubles in explaining with incoming students

DIFFICULTIES Credit Recognition Problems • Too many factors affecting on the recognition process: - Scientific Council Approval - Dean of School/ Faculty Approval - The agreement of the lecturer who is in charge of giving the similar lectures for the outgoing student - Outdoing student study plan Reason: Difference between European Education System and Vietnam Education System;

Comment and suggestion Strong points of BTG Project: Friendly and Cooperative Partner Universities Open for variety of exchange courses Its win-win cooperation principle with the active role of Asian Universities, esp. in student selecting process Suggestions Keeping more regular contacts or building new good relationships with Relevant Ministries of partner countries in order to simplifying and shortening the unnecessary administrative procedures

  11. CONCLUSION Ideal opportunities for HUST faculties: Development cooperation in education and research activities with colleagues from European universities To share and exchange training methodology & management, research activities.
