  2. Agenda Brainteaser Grammar Review Anthem Frayer Model Poetry Project Brainteaser!!! There have been many amendments to the U.S. Constitution during the last 100 years. One of the subjects of these amendments involves the progression of power when the heads of state die while in office. If the Vice-President of the United States and the Speaker of the House of Representatives should die while in office, who then becomes the President?

  3. Grammar Practice Each group of students should have: A white board A dry erase marker Their notes

  4. Rules • Each team will combine the sentences and write them on their board • When the teacher calls time the boards will be revealed • All groups with correct answers will receive points • The group with the highest points will receive extra credit Ready?

  14. Today’s Activity We are going to make Frayer Models. These are a great way of organizing small amount of in-depth analysis.

Step 1: Topic Figurative Language Step 5: Draw a picture Step 4: What does it mean? Draw a picture of what the author is describing. This should be based on the text! Here is where you analyze. Unit Project After reading selected texts from Unit II – Self & Society, students will engage in a Public Forum debate that argues his or her position on The “Right to Privacy” is more important than government security. Students will support their position with evidence from the fiction and non-fiction texts in Unit II. They will respond and create counterarguments using the suppositions of their opponents .
