  3. Overview of the Book • Contains 3 Sections to the Book • A class reunion where the classmates discusses the changes in their lives. • The Story of Who Moved My Cheese. • A discussion about the story and how they can apply the story to their lives

  4. The Story The story consists of 4 main characters and 1 character indirectly outside of the classmates. There are two mice and two men in search for cheese throughout a maze. Each pair are separated in the maze. As the journey to find cheese each pair has many obstacles to overcome. The mice tends to do better with change, because they keep things simple. Cheese is the metaphor for whatever desire you want out of life. ( Money, Career, Health, or Spiritual ) The Maze is where you look for what you want ( the organization you work in, your family, or community you live in )

  5. Hem He denies and resists change as he fears it will lead to something worse. He’s got the ability to make things systematized and controllable. In the story, it is Hem who gets left behind because change can be seen as a really big threat to someone who excels at control and stability.

  6. Haw He learns to adapt in time when he sees changing can lead to something better! He’s got the ability to empathize and connect well with others. In the story, it is Haw who follows Sniff and Scurry but all the while is concerned about where Hem is and how Hem is doing. Ultimately, Haw leaves the writing on the wall for others like Hem to follow.

  7. Sniff He sniffs out change early He’s got the ability to sense and respond to changes happening in the environment much more quickly than the other styles. He gets excited about creating new things and likes you to get excited with him.

  8. Scurry He scurries into action He’s got the ability to run, run, run and do the work from early to late. He gets frustrated when there are obstacles in his path and seeks to run around them or punch through them.

  10. MY PERSONAL STORY • Grew up in a military family? (Change was constant) • Joining the Military • Going overseas? • Getting Married and Divorce • Involuntarily Separating from the Military! ( Most Difficult) • Finishing School!

Change Happens They Keep Moving The Cheese Anticipate Change Get Ready For The Cheese To Move Monitor Change Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old Adapt To Change Quickly The Quicker You Let Go Of Old Cheese, The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese Change Move With The Cheese Enjoy Change! Savor The Adventure And Enjoy The Taste Of New Cheese! Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again They Keep Moving The Cheese.
