  3. NO OTHER GODS Syncretism • Combination of different beliefs • Acceptance of other doctrines • Men can choose and combine their own religious beliefs

  4. NO OTHER GODS Pluralism • Not just one way to serve God • Many ways of serving God • Christianity, Islam, Buddhism would all be acceptable

  5. NO OTHER GODS Syncretism • Example in the Old Testament • Baal Worship - I Kings 18 • Storm god – bringer of rain • Did not abandon worship of God

  7. NO OTHER GODS Syncretism • Religious syncretism is wrong • It always has been wrong • Mixing worship to other gods along with worship to God.

  8. WORSHIP GOD ONLY • No other gods – Deut. 6:14-15 • Mixture was not allowed • Matt. 6:24 - God and mammon • Cannot serve two masters • God will not accept • Satan will accept
