Celebrating Carnival in Germany: Tradition, Joy, and Festivity

Carnival in Germany, known as Fasching or Fastnacht, is a vibrant celebration held before Ash Wednesday. It is characterized by colorful costumes, parades, and joyous revelry in the streets of cities like Cologne and Düsseldorf. Carnival clubs organize processions featuring decorated floats, dancing, and the iconic greeting "Helau!" or "Alaaf!" Attendees often wear masks and engage in humorous critiques of politicians. This festive tradition dates back centuries and encourages creativity and community spirit through costume preparation and street celebrations.
