  3. What is Duct Tape Duct tape is a very strong tape made from cloth sealed with polyethylene to make it sticky. Duct tape is often used to repair things such as pipes, windows and so much more. What makes it so extraordinary is that it’s very strong and sticky.

  4. Duct Tape was first created in 1942 by Johnson & Johnson Permecel Division during world war 2. It was used as a water resistant sealing tape for ammunition cases. Also used to repair military equipment. (Jeeps, firearms, aircrafts, etc) History of Duct Tape Duct tape was originally in the color army green then was made in silver to match the ductwork. Once hearing this people started calling it “Duct Tape” It had many names such as rigger tape, hurricane tape,100-mph tape and gun tape.

  5. Duct Tape in Flight In 1970 the square carbon dioxide filters from Apollo 13’s failed and had to be more modified to fit round receptacle. A workaround used duct tape and other items a board Apollo 13 to modify it, saving the lives of three astronauts onboard.

  6. On October 15,2002 Adam Doorm announced that he had done a study on duct tape and that it could be used as an effective treatment for warts. The treatment name was called “duct tape occlusion therapy” In the 2006 study of 103 children, duct tape did NOT perform as well as placebo. In another study in 2007 adults found out that duct tape helped only 21% of the time and was no better than moleskin ( a cotton tape bandage used to protect the skin. Medical Use

  7. Duct tape is a big part of the lives of humans and is used in daily activities. Like fixing the leak in your sink or taping up a hole that normally other kinds of tape will not hold. One reason why it’s used to fix things is that it’s water proof. COMMONUSE

  8. Ducttapetoday Duct tape today is not only used fixing things but Making crafts. Wallets , bags , purses , even dresses have been made from all kinds of colors of duct tape. On the left is a chair and a table made from duct tape. Many people have made it their professions selling their crafts. Every year there is a contest for the best duct tape prom dress and the winner gets a scholarship!
