TOK Assessment External Assessment (TOK ESSAY) 40 points Internal Assessment (TOK PRESENTATION) 20 points • A 49-60 points • B 40-48 points • C 32-39 points • D 22-31points • E 0-21points Extended Essay • A 29-36 points. Work of an excellent standard • B 23-28 points. Work of a good standard • C 16-22 points. Work of a satisfactory standard • D 8-15 points. Work of a mediocre standard • E 0-7 points. Work of an elementary standard

  4. The diploma points matrix • F* From 2010 onwards 28 points overall will be required to be eligible for the diploma if a student attains an ‘E’ grade in either the extended essay or theory of knowledge. • As previously, a grade ‘A’ in one of the requirements earns an extra point even if the other is a grade ‘E’. • Attaining a grade ‘E’ in both the extended essay and theory of knowledge continues to represent an automatic failure.

  5. AWARD OF THE DIPLOMA • Candidate’s total points are less than 24. • A grade N has been awarded for one or more subjects, theory of knowledge or the extended essay. • A grade E has been awarded for both theory of knowledge and the extended essay. • There is a grade 1 awarded in any subject and level. • CAS requirements have not been completed. • Candidate is guilty of malpractice. • Grade 3 or below has been awarded four or more times.
