  3. LONDON London is the capital city of England and of the United Kingdom situated on the Thames river, the largest city in Britain and one of the largest cities in the world.

  4. The Tower of London

  5. The Tower of London was build in the 11th century. It was planned by William theConqueror to keep London under the control of his government and to defend the city. The oldest part of the Tower is the Square building called the White Tower.

  6. Kings mostly came to the Tower water, in daylight. They often came accompanied by beautiful ladies and musicians, in boats decorated with silk and flowers. But there were a lot of boats sailing by night Traitors’ Gate. No music, no flowers, just a dink of swords, a sound of chains on the poor victims’ hands and infamous people were kept there.

  7. The Houses of Parliament

  8. -There are Houses of Parliament built on the banks of the Thames at Westminster. -Common people reside in the East End. This is a vast area running eastward from the City.

  9. London Bridge.

  10. Actually there are several Londons. First, there is the City of London. It is an area of one square mile running along the Thames Embankment from about Waterloo Bridge to Tower Bridge. It is the financial and business centre of Great Britain. About half a million people work there during the day. At night it is almost deserted.
