  7. Exclave vs. Enclave Enclave: • A country or part of a country lying wholly within the boundaries of another. However, an enclave does not have political affinity to the surrounding state. Also, an enclave does not belong to another country. • Lesotho, Vatican City • A distinctly bounded area enclosed within a larger unit: ethnic enclaves in a large city. • Ex. Chinatown in San Francisco or NYC
