Introduction SMS • SMS – Short Message Service • Highly Personal, immediate Communication, Low Cost and High Retention Level • Business Tool • Mobile Commerce and Transactions FTP • FTP – File Transfer Protocol • Standard network protocol to transfer files • Uses TCT based network • Built on Client-Server architecture

  4. Existing System • FTP Application window, web based and mobile application • Window based – installation limitation • Web based – useless on restricted network • Mobile application – Requires Smart Phone and active internet connection

Proposed Solution • The solution proposed is to FTP the file on remote machine using SMS • SMS does not require any installation, smart phone, internet connection • User having normal mobile will able to use this application • The requirement of this project is a client must be installed on the Remote machine to facilitate receiving of SMS, parsing it, searching file, uploading and downloading the file. • Client machine must have an active internet connection

  7. User Machine SMS based FTP Appln • FTServerP SMS Gateway Mail Server 1. User sends SMS in a required format to SMS Gateway SMS SMS 2. SMS Gateway then forwards SMS to SMS based FTP Appln 6. SMS Gateway then forwards SMS to User 4.2. FTP Server gives the acknowledgement of the request 4.4. Mail Server gives the acknowledgement of the request 3. SMS based FTP Appln receives a SMS, parses it and splits the SMS into components 5. SMS based FTP Appln sends a response back to user through SMS 4.3. If request is related to Email File then the SMS based FTP appln connect with Mail server and execute the request 4.1. If request is related to File upload, Download or List then the SMS based FTP appln connect with FTP server and execute the request 4. Depending on the request, SMS based FTP either communicates with Mail Server, FTP Server and respond back to user through SMS ARCHITECTURE Diagram
