  4. Music was the main source of diversion for the ARISTOCRACY. A music director’s job was good and bad. Pay and prestige were high and all their music would always be played but the composer was still a servant who could neither quit nor even take a trip without the patron’s permission.

  5. Most ordinary people heard music in CHURCH. Church musicians and court musicians had to produce new music constantly. Pipe Organ

  10. The Fugue Is a polyphonic composition based on one main theme called a subject. Throughout a fugue, different melodic lines or voices imitate the subject. The subject is almost always presented in a single, unaccompanied voice.
