  2. INTRODUCTION

  3. Who Should Take this Training? Health Insurance Agents who are familiar with the Affordable Care Act and the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange and are ready to begin doing business through the Exchange.

  4. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this training, you will be able to: • Be familiar with how to set your password. • Authenticate a device for security access. • Know how to enter your agent information. • Build your public profile. • Complete your agent registration.

  6. LESSON 1: Navigate the NMHIX Portal

  7. Navigate to the NMHIX Portal To start the new agent application process: • Enter the web address for the NMHIX Portal. The Welcome Agents page displays. • Click First time here? Sign Up.

  8. Basic Information Enter the following basic information: • First and last name • Valid email address • Confirm email address It is recommended that you use a business email address.

  9. Set Password Enter your password information: • Create a password using at least eight characters. • Enter your password again for confirmation. • Click Submit.

  10. LESSON 2: Determine Authentication and Set Security

  11. Two-Factor Authentication To protect your identity and make your account information more secure, you will be required to complete this setup wizard. Click Start Setup. The Federal government requires that a two-factor authentication be in place.

  12. Authenticate via Tablet Next you will determine how you want to be contacted. We will look at the different options to learn more. First we will select Tablet. Then click Continue.

  13. Tablet When you select iOS(iPad, iPod Touch) or Android, the Install Duo Mobile screen displays: • Follow the instructions for the appropriate device. Or • Click checkbox for already installed. When you have completed the instructions or checked the box, click the Continue button.

  14. Authenticate via Landline Next we will look at Landline. Click the Landline radio button. Then click the Continue button.

  15. Landline When you select Landline, the Phone number screen displays: • Enter the appropriate phone number. • When a green checkmark appears to the right of the phone number entered, • click the checkbox to verify the phone number. • Click the Continue button.

  16. Authenticate via Desktop Token Next we will view Desktop token. Click the Desktop token radio button. Then click the Continue button.

Desktop Token When you select Desktop token (Mac or Windows), the Install Duo Desktop for Windows screen displays: • Click on the link to download the installer. • Then click Run to install the Duo Desktop application. • When you have completed the installation, click Continue on the Install Duo Desktop for Windows screen.

  18. Authenticate via Mobile Phone For the purposes of this training, • We click the radio button for recommended authenticator Mobile phone. • Click the Continue button.

  19. Mobile Phone When you select Mobile phone, the phone number screen displays: • Enter the appropriate phone number. • When a green checkmark appears to the right of the phone number entered, • click the checkbox to verify the phone number. • Click Continue.

  20. Mobile Phone After you enter your mobile phone number, you must verify ownership of the device. • Select Call me or Text me. • When you receive the 6 digit verification code, enter it here. • Click Verify. • When the green checkmark appears to the right of the Verify button, click Continue.

  21. Mobile Phone Choose Platform Even though there are various cell phone platforms to choose from, the instructions are basically the same to set up Duo Mobile. Launch a specific application as needed. Search for Duo Mobile. Select Install or Download to install depending on the device. Or skip steps 2 and 3 and click the checkbox I have Duo Mobile installed. You may need to allow Duo Mobile to send push notifications. In this case, just select OK.

  22. Security Questions To add another layer of security to your identity, you will be required to select three different security questions. Click the drop down on Security Question 1. Select from a question from the list. Then type your answer to the question. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for questions 2 and 3. After all the questions and answers have been entered, click Continue.

  23. LESSON 3: Registration as an Agent

  24. Agent Information Next enter your agent information. Your first and last name are carried over from your initial sign in. Enter your Insurance License number Enter your license renew date as MM/DD/YYYY Enter your primary contact phone number. Enter the Business name. Enter your Federal tax ID.

  25. Address Information Then complete business and correspondence address information Enter the street number and street name. Enter the city. Click the drop down for State and select the state name. Enter the zip code. If the Correspondence address and Business address are the same, click this checkbox. Or Click next to go to the last part of the registration. If the Correspondence address is different , repeat steps 1 thru 4 .

  26. Build Your Public Profile Finally, provide public information about you and your business Select which users you want to view your profile. Enter languages you speak fluently. Check the boxes which represent your insurance expertise. Enter your web site address . Enter information about yourself. Last step is to upload a picture of yourself. When you are satisfied with your entries, click Finish.

  27. Registration Complete After you finish Building Your Public Profile the following message is displayed: Click Close to close the message. Your account will be frozen until NMHIX approves the profile. Once you receive your approved status via email, at that time you will have full access to the NMHIX agent portal and you may go back in and UPDATE your profile.

  28. Congratulations! • This concludes theCreate and Manage Your Agent Account course. You should now be able to: • Set your password. • Authenticate a device for security access. • Enter your agent information. • Build your public profile. • Complete your agent registration.
