Agreements • The ELM agreed that both qualitative andquantitative indicators should be taken into account when preparing the report on SFM forWarsaw Conference • The MCPFE General Coordinating Council had suggested that the Liaison Unit Warsaw would perform the reporting for the Warsaw Conference in co-operation with the UNECE/FAO secretariat, and supported by the Team of Specialists on “Monitoring Forest Resources for SFM in the UNECE region”.

  6. Agreements • The need for further development of co-operation amongthe MCPFE and other C&I processes, in particular the Montreal Process, was expressed. • Regional processes should fit the global frame, which at the same timeshould consider specific regional conditions. • The ELM also noted that the reporting should be harmonized with relevant international processes (to the extent possible).

  7. Agreements • The participants of the ELM underlined the importance of involving relevant institutions into the preparatory process and recommended making the best use of existing networks and expertise. • In order to have this report completed on time and to be able to make the best use of existing networks and expertise “involved partners should be working together in a rather informal and flexible way”.
