Your HR Resources Your HR Website • First place to visit – your HR website:www.blackpool.ac.uk/hr • Provides useful documents and templates on all aspects of employee policy and procedure • New information added regularly by our policies and procedures team • Termly newsletter on the latest updates and useful information • Your PC login is very important – use this to access HR website, your online payslips, and receive internal job vacancies by email Your HR Team • Pay us a visit in Poulton Building, Bispham Campus • Opening Hours – Mon-Fri 8.30am – 5pm • Please ring ahead to book an appointment
How we can help… • Your manager should be your first point of contact, however… • Additional support and advice is available for you and your manager Human Resources provide assistance with a range of areas within the College, for example: • Interviewing and recruitment • Job vacancies • Pre-employment checks and issuing contractual terms and conditions • Performance review and progress during your career with us • Providing advice to management regarding absence, disciplinary and grievance issues • Creating and advising on employee policies and procedures • Leaving the College, and resignation …and much more
Support for New Starters at the College • Induction- including Teaching Essentials 2 day course for our new academic staff • Mentor Program – “an experienced and trusted adviser” to provide additional support during your career with us • Your Probationary Period • First 12 months of employment • Meet with manager at 3, 6 and 9 months to review progress • Contract of less than 12 months – process still applies, should provide useful feedback for you on your progress and identify any training needs • Ensure meetings are arranged with your manager
Benefits of working for the College… • Generous annual leave entitlements: • Corporate (support) staff – 30 days per year • Academic staff – 42 days per year, 4 unbroken weeks’ leave in Summer period • Holiday year runs from 1st September – 31st August • Annual leave entitlement pro-rata for part time staff • Different arrangements for our “Bank” staff, or those on part time, fixed term contracts – paid holidays • Annual leave to be booked in advance with your manager using your leave card • Carry over – 5 days or one working week for part time staff
