  3. Positions: All one-year terms • President • Vice-President • 3 Member Student Executive Committee • 1 Student Officer Secretary (volunteer) • 2 Focus on Marketing (volunteers)

President • Answers to National Student Officers Adviser • Submit essay for Honor’s Journal by July 1 • 250 – 500 words • Topic of interest to business students/faculty • Assemble national officers • National Service Project • Work with other officers • Determine criteria • Vote on best National Service Project • Attend National Leadership Conference following year • Presentation(s) • Scholarship Committee member • Support national and local chapter ABG activities • Vote on special resolutions

Time Commitment: President • Organize up to six Skype 1 hour meetings/yr • 1 hour to prepare; 1 hour to meet • Write Essay for Honor’s Journal • 250 – 500 words • Deadline: July 1 • Time commitment varies • Serve on 2015 Scholarship Committee • Several hours before meeting reading essays, &/or chapter annual reports • Meet with Scholarship Committee 7 – 9 pm Thursday evening of annual meeting • Present at 2015 annual meeting • 2 hours to prepare; 30 minutes to present

Vice-President • Answers to President • Submit essay for Honor’s Journal by July 1 • 250 – 500 words • Topic of interest to business students/faculty • Support president • Support national and local chapter ABG activities • Spearhead the National Service Project • Assume responsibilities of president if president unable to serve • Vote on special resolutions

Time Commitment: VICE-President • Attend up to six Skype 1 hour meetings/yr • 1/2 to prepare; 1 hour to meet • Write Essay for Honor’s Journal • 250 – 500 words • Deadline: July 1 • Time commitment varies • Serve as Chair, National Service Project • Spearhead the National Service Project • Prepare PowerPoint presentation on chapter National Service Projects for presentation at 2015 Annual Meeting • 2 hours to prepare

Now that you have decided…….how to run for national office • Nominations • Nominations taken during national meeting (get somebody to nominate you) • Candidate must agree to run • Campaigning • Optional • Mingle during “Meet and Greet” • Establish name recognition • Network • Provide members something with your name on it • Business card • Token • Etc

  13. elections • President & Vice-President • Secret ballot • One ballot per chapter in attendance • Executive Committee • Secret ballot • One ballot per member in attendance • Simple majority • New officers announced at Awards Banquet

  14. 2014 – 2015 national student officers’ first meeting • Immediately after Awards Banquet: allow one hour • Meet adviser • Gather around table in banquet hall • Q & A session • Agree on date and time for first teleconference • Provide adviser with name and contact information • Sign commitment agreement
