Triangles in Your Life

Triangles in Your Life. Sample Problem. Your actual height = 190 cm In this photo you were allowed to measure 2 sides and the angle between them You must use proportions to determine the sides you are allowed to measure (see assignment) in actual length. Measure with a protractor. B.

  1. Triangles in Your Life

  2. Sample Problem Your actual height = 190 cm In this photo you were allowed to measure 2 sides and the angle between them You must use proportions to determine the sides you are allowed to measure (see assignment) in actual length. Measure with a protractor B 4.5 cm 35° A C 7.5 cm 1.5 cm

  3. First fine the actual length of side b: your height in photo = side ‘b’ length in photo your actual height actual length side ‘b’ 1.5 cm = 7.5 cm (This is the side you are allowed to measure) 190 cm side b Actual side ‘b’ = 950 cm = 9.5 m

  4. Use similar calculations to determine actual length of side ‘a’ • You must use trigonomic relations to solve the rest of the triangle
