  3. Training Needs Assessment • ECCE day, curriculum and framework in ICDS

  4. Requirement of ECCE Educator in Private/NGO Channel • To actualise the provisions of the draft National ECCE Policy nearly 10-15 lakh trained and skilled ECCE caregiver/ teacher would be required in the private/ NGO channel. (Estimate on the basis of ECCE service provisions for nearly 3-4 crore children in the age group of 3-6 years who are not attending AWCs and adult – child ratio of 1:20 and also children in the 0-3 years age group who would need centre based ECCE services) • Current capacity of the system for training through regular face to face mode (NCTE recognised Nursery Teacher Training Institutes) is nearly 1 lakh trainees annually.

  8. Need to move beyond classroom training • Class room training can only reach so much at a time. • Enhancing no. of own training centers in short term is difficult. Hence partnership……. • Quality of training suffers if we rush through it. • Standardization of messages at cutting edge is an issue in ToT approach. • Training aids are negligible. • A/V equipment are few in AWTC/MLTCs.
