  8. This research is done on your own (there is no class credit or anything for it). You could do this in a group of people if you wanted. • This is an voluntary opportunity for you to do some research about something in dentistry and share the information in the Spring semester with other Pre-Dental members, dental students and school faculty.

  9. We'll have a "Symposium" in the spring where we will invite dental students from ASDOH and Midwestern, dental faculty from the schools and we'll promote the event around ASU campus (so maybe some professors you want to you a letter could come... hint, hint). At this Symposium, we'll have areas for those who researched to set up any information or posters they may have created and then we'll all be able to rotate through and learn some more about dentistry.

  10. RESEARCH is a section on the dental school application. Dental-related research on your own initiative will likely be very impressive to dental schools! Also, hopefully some members of ASDOH & Midwestern will visit and you can network.

  11. This year’s proposed date/time: April 28th from 6-7:30pm (with set up at 5:30pm) If interested contact: Presley Pearson (presley.pearson@gmail.com) • Let us know if you have any questions! Again this isn't super strict so if you have some ideas, I'm sure they will work out. Let us know if you have any suggestions. • See the following slides for highlights from last year!

  19. Future Meeting • April 21st • Elections • Social

  20. Elections • If you are running for a position:-  E-mail your name and the position(s) you will be running for to shayan.salim@asu.edu.  Your name will appear in the slideshow that night so that people can vote.-  Prepare your speech.  These are pretty short, just a few minutes.  Include a little about yourself and things such as why you are running, how you've been involved this year, what you'll bring to the position, and ideas you have for next year. If you cannot attend the meeting I suggest making a video. How the election process works:We will start with the position of President and then continue on with Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, the two Volunteer Coordinator positions, social chair and then Webmaster. For each position, everyone running will come to the front of the room and give their speech one at a time.  Then all present members will cast their vote on a slip of paper.  These will be counted on the spot and the new officer announced.  This gives anyone who didn't get the position the opportunity to run for other positions they might be interested in.  Only current members are able to run for Vice President.
