  3. Format a Presentation • PowerPoint provides a variety of design themes that you can apply to a presentation. • In some situations, the formatting provided by the theme is appropriate. In other situations, you may want to change or enhance the formatting of a slide.

  6. Format a Presentation…continued To change the font: • Select the desired text. • Click the Font button arrow in the Font group in the Home tab. • Select the desired font at the drop-down gallery. Font button arrow

Format a Presentation…continued • Fonts may be decorative or plain and generally fall into one of two categories: serif fonts or sans serif fonts. • A serif is a small line at the end of a character stroke. • A sans serif font does not have serifs (sans is French for without) and is generally used for titles and headings.

Create Custom Themes • If the default themes, theme colors, and theme fonts do not provide the formatting you desire for your presentation, you can create your own custom theme colors, custom theme fonts, and a custom theme. • The buttons at the right side of the Themes group in the Design tab display a visual representation of the current theme. • If you change the theme colors, the colors are reflected in the small color squares on the Colors button. • If you change the theme fonts, the A on the Fonts button reflects the change.
