Inserting Media into your Movie Maker Project • Gather all media into a single folder • Task 1: Capture video • Import video, pictures AND audio files.
Inserting Media into your Movie Maker Project • Imported media will be in your Collection pane • Items can be selected individually, by using CTRL +, Select All, etc.
Inserting Media into your Movie Maker Project • Imported video automatically gets clipped into segments. • When placed side-by-side in the project, there will be seamless transition NOTE: Windows Movie Maker DOES NOT accept .mp4 video.
Saving your Project • Save your EDITABLE (*.MSWMM) project frequently . • Place this file in your Movie Projects folder with the rest of your media. • A RED X will show up on items that cannot be located and will need to Browse for it.
From Storyboard to Digital Story • Using your storyboard, pull your media down from the Collections pane into the Timeline or Storyboard view. Media in Timeline View Media in Storyboard View
Editing your Movie • Task 2: Edit Movie • In Storyboard view, add video effects to the and video transitions to the . • Add title slides to explain your media. Place before or on the item you choose. • A credit slide should ALWAYS be created for your movie and should be placed at the end.
Digital Citizenship Reminder • Make sure to cite all of the sources for pictures, videos, and links for music & sounds • Rule of thumb: If you didn’t create it from scratch, it needs a citation. • Rolling credits or a Credits slide are a quick and easy way to cite all of your sources • Students names : Use First Name or First Name and Last Initial only (for privacy)
Saving your Project/Movie • Save your project frequently (*.MSWMM) • Go to File> Save Project • CTRL+S • Can still be edited or make changes to the file • Your final movie project (*.mov) • Task 3: Finish Movie> Save to my computer • Can no longer be edited without pulling it back into Movie Maker to be remixed.
Producing your Movie • Task 3: Finish Movie • Choose Save to my computer. • Using the Save Movie Wizard, to finish your movie.
