  2. Grid at a Glance A computing system supports the heterogeneous environment of operating system termed as GRID. Distribution managing the environment in a Grid called Middleware. gLite : Lightweight Middleware for Grid Computing. gLite is a grid Middleware distribution mainly developed by EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE). Latest Released version of gLite is 3.2 compatible with Scientific Linux 5. INDIA-CMS_meeting_BARC

  4. Storage (DPM+SRM) Storage Elements Facilitates with : SRM (Storage Resource Manager) interface provides the combined view of whole storage to grid viewers & end users. DPM(Disk Pool Manager) is an administration which manages the pool servers. 18 high performance RAID6 configured pool servers giving the aggregate storage capacity of ~ 340 Tera Bytes.   6. PhEDEx – CMS Data Transfer PhEDEx is short for Physics Experiment Data Export. Tool is exclusively designed for CMS experiment for file transfer and data placement. Tool is basically a front end for data manager / end users / system administrator to have a look of there respective prospective like ... System Administrator : check Data Transfer Rates etc. Data Manager : Approve / Deny Transfer User : Transfer / Deletion Request Transfers are highly dependent on proper functioning of network links.
