Empowering Women: PCSW Goals & Celebrations at Eastern Oregon University

The President's Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) outlines key goals for 2004-2005 to enhance women's rights and resources at Eastern Oregon University. This includes establishing an independent Women's Research and Resource Center, conducting a gender audit to assess women's conditions on campus, and advocating for the support of the Gender Studies program. Join us on March 8, 2005, for International Women’s Week, celebrating women of vision and courage, in the Loso Lobby from 4-5 PM.

  1. PCSW 04-05 Co-chairs: Anna Cavinato Tempie Bartell Members: Mary Brock, Rob Cashell, Jill Gibian, Lee Ann McNermey, Rosemary Powers, Tonia St. Germain, Cierra Olivia Thomas, Steve Wadner, Erin Wolford.

  2. PCSW Goals for 04-05 • Goal #1-Women’s Research & Resource Center - Establish independent from PCSW- a plan to create a student-lead WRRC has been developed and is currently in progress.

  3. PCSW Goals for 04-05 • Goal #2- Eastern Oregon University Gender audit - two subcommittees have been established to propose and stimulate both qualitative and quantitative assessments of women’s conditions on campus comparing salaries, recruitment and retention rates, athletic scholarship awards, tenure and promotion decisions, and university service involvement.

  4. PCSW Goals for 04-05 • Goal #3- Support of the Gender Studies Program- The PCSW strongly encourages the President to support the Gender Studies program as a means to endorse diversity on our campus.

  5. International Women’s Week Celebrating Women of Vision And Courage At Eastern Oregon University And In The Wider Community Tuesday March 8, 2005 Loso Lobby 4-5 pm
