  3. How many pounds does A MOUNTAIN GORILLA WEIGH? • Weighs about 154-350 pounds. • Males 350 pounds • Females 250 pounds

  4. What’s a Mountain Gorilla’s Typical Size? • Male – 6 feet tall • Female – 5 feet tall Average is 4-5 feet

  5. What's a Mountain Gorilla’s Color? • Black or dark brown • Gets old, turns gray

  6. What adaptations help its survival? • Fur helps keep them warm • Hands help them walk, eat, and feel • Rely on their sense of smell, sight, and hearing • Stick with their family because they depend on them

  7. The Mountain Gorilla Habitat • Live in three different countries in Africa: • Uganda • Rwanda • The Democratic Republic of Congo • Live in thick forests where it can be cold at night because they like the cold • The weather in the forests is usually cloudy and damp

  8. How Do Mountain Gorillas Get Their Food? • Using their big hands and ripping whatever they are going to eat off • Mostly get their food from the ground or from the tree if they can reach it • Rarely climb trees to get their food even though they are excellent climbers
