  3. Introduction • A leaking pool is more than just a headache for the home owner. • Leak detecting is a mental game that involves synthesizing clues from a variety of different sources. • When it comes to detecting a leak in pool, leak detection tools plays major role.

  4. Types of Testing • Some of the most commonly used testing methods are • Bucket Testing • Pressure Testing • Dye Testing • Hydrophone Testing

  5. Bucket Testing • In this method, to check for a leak in your pool place a bucket on the first or second step of the pool and fill it with water. • Mark the water levels in and outside of the bucket to identify the leaks in pool. • After 24 hours compare the water levels, if the water level in the pool has dropped more than in bucket, then there probably is a leak in the pool structure or plumbing system.

  6. Pressure Testing • Pressure testing is the process of isolating of your pool plumbing, by pressurizing a pipe section and read on a pressure gauge. • Air or nitrogen is used when a pipe has already been determined to leak. • Adding a gas makes it easier to hear the leak detection in a listening device.

  7. Dye Testing • Dye test is a quick and easiest test that can be completed by anyone. • The dye is injected in the water in tiny amounts directly adjacent to the suspected area. • If it swirls around the crack without getting sucked in, no leak. If the dye is gets sucked in, possible of water leaking from the pool.

  8. Hydrophone Testing • Hydrophone is an underwater listening device, with a small microphone sued to detect leaks into the pipes. • The ultrasonic pool leak detection equipment also used to pinpoint the pool leak detection easily.
