  3. Legislation • Businesses have to put certain legislation in place that people have to obey. • What are they?

  5. Health and Safety at Work Act • Description: This law states hazards must be identified and cautions must be put in place. Staff should know evacuation procedures and protective equipment must be used if needed. • Punishment: Compensation and may have to go to court

  11. Data Protection Act • Description: This law states any confidential information must be secured and should not be disclosed to unauthorised personnel • Punishment: If they do they will be subject to an unlimited fine
