  1. February GBM!!!

  2. Egypt Rioting • Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered in the streets of Cairo, Egypt. • They are protesting for their civil rights in response to an authoritarian government and President Hosni Mubarak. • The protesting has led to violence, the death toll has reached 300 with thousands injured. • Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton has issued a statement expressing her support for the Egyptians and their democratic aspirations, saying that President Mubarak should step down and an “orderly transition” should be made in the government.

  4. Semi Formal • SASA and FEE Semi-Formal was a great success. Thanks everyone who came out! • Raised a significant amount of money for FFE • Annual Event

  5. Volleyball Tourney • When: Fri Feb 18th • Time: 7pm-9:45pm • Where: Ray Meyer • Teams: 5 to 7 people, minimum of 2 girls • $10 per team • Sign up on the SASA website • http://depaulsasa.yolasite.com/volleyball-tournament.php

  6. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness • When: February 23rd • Time: 7pm • Where: SAC 115 • Cosponsored with ACE • This event is about spreading awareness about drug and alcohol abuse and it’s effects. • All are encouraged to attend! • Refreshments will be provided

  7. Show!!! Bollywood Meets Hollywood: Where Stars Align!

  8. Fashion Show • When: Feb 8th • TOMORROW! • Time: 9:30pm • Where: SC 314 AB • Fashion show coordinators: SahrishQureshi and Monica Patel

  9. 50% evaluations • Dates: February 8th and 9th • Similar to try-outs, so be prepared! • Must be 50% of your music, and you must bring your mix with you • Will have 20 min time slots to setup and perform for Show Chairs • These arethe last day to pay for membership, before the price goes up!!!!! • One Act WILL be cut due to time restrictions

  10. 75% Evaluations • Tech sheets will be emailed out to coordinators • Need sample of all outfits boys/girls will wear • Pictures will be taken for Show Booklet

  11. Show Rules • NO ALCOHOL! • If we catch you drinking at ANY SASA event or meeting you WILL be kicked out of the show! • Plan Ahead • You will be aware ahead of time of all meetings’ dates and times; therefore, plan accordingly (re: school) • Strike Policy • If you miss more than 1 GBM you have to attend at least one of two show committees in April • If you are going to miss a meeting, please let the show coordinators know at least 2 days before the meeting. • **This policy applies act coordinator meetings! • Please Be Respectful during Rehearsals and Meetings

Important Dates • February GBM - February 7th • 50% evaluations - February 8th and 9th • March GBM - February 28th • 75% evaluations - March 1st, 2nd • 100% evaluation - Sun April 3rd in MPR 2pm • April GBM - April 11th • Show Rehearsal - Friday April 15th @ NSCPA • Show Date - Saturday, April 16th @ NSCPA • These dates are MANDATORY for all participants

  13. Room Reservations • Email Priyal Patel at dpusasa.secretary@gmail.com • Student Center, SAC and Munroe Rooms • Can't use Ray rooms under SASA's name • Policy: • Book room at least 2 weeks prior • Cancel at least 10 days prior • Don't show up once = no longer allowed to use rooms • * ROOMS FILL UP FAST!!!

  14. Act Coordinator Meetings • Held after every GBM – will be 4 of them in total • Length shall be roughly 10 mins • If you cannot attend then a representative from your group must go in your place • Will be held after GBM today

  15. Want to Get involved? • Contact a Show Chair after the meeting • There are still a lot of opportunities to get involved, even if you’re not in an act • Show Committee every other Wednesday

  16. Show DVD’s • Didn’t get a show DVD yet? • Full length DVD including Videos, MC Skits, and Acts • You can purchase one after the meeting from Sabina Samra for only $5!

  17. Formal • Most likely collaborating with UIC • Will be held at a hotel in downtown Chicago • Prospective dates April 22nd or May 6th • Want to be a formal chair? • Contact Shreeraj after the meeting
