  2. Eastman Machine Company, manufacturing company, which manufactures and sells cutting machines • Located in downtown Buffalo; open for 125 years. • We are creating this database to help keep track of costs that associate with selling machine’s( flight, hotel reservation, etc)

  3. Business problem • Time wasted Manually looking up past records by going to the file cabinets. Making the file for each individual technician and looking into the different expense sheets for the information. • Difficult to analyze and make conclusions . • analysis tool for past per diums given.

Identification of business value • Allows examining of the different costs, and details about the services that go along with selling of the automated cutting machines • Save time Ex: Helping the secretary find which hotel has the best rates as well as locations in accordance to the customers location.

Identification of business value • Creating the analysis on • the expenses incurred by the technicians • the break down of these expenses. • total costs for a customer/technician. • the average per dium rates Ex: Helping Upper management know what the costs where, why they were charged to the company credit card

Conclusion • Eastman’s business becomes more efficient • Efficienttool for managers to see trends of costs • Giving ease of retrieval by many different people who will use it to add, view and delete data. • Providing useful reports that show expenses for customers, and job shipments and service dates, per diums for specific location, locations details, including hotel information.
