Attribute: The setting of my book makes the story realistic. Title: Things I Know About Love What is your book’s genre? Write it here: Realistic Fiction Attribute: My story is realistic, because Livia is a believable seventeen year old girl. Attribute: that a teenager would face. 3. Attribute: The setting of my book makes the story realistic. Middle Beginning End “I was relieved, though, when we pulled into the cinema car park and joined up as a four again. Jeff bought the tickets to thank Kyle for the lift. Kyle bought a gigantic bucket of popcorn for us all to share.” (77). “I returned to find myself in some kind of nightclub where people lazed around on common-room furniture, wearing their own clothes and talking about music.” (34). “I met Adam later for lunch at a sushi bar. Out of nowhere, when I saw him standing outside, waiting for me …” (101).

  4. Attribute: My story is realistic, because Livia is a believable seventeen year old girl. Middle Beginning End “We went shopping the following Sunday, and I was looking at some really cute, but quite expensive, blue checked pajamas, just because I really like nightwear …” (4). “We were chatting about silly stuff; I was helping him catch up with what had been going on in the British celebrity world since he’d been away …” (86). “’What have you done?” I squeaked. .’Don’t you think it’s pretty?’ Paul said. ‘Oh my God, pretty? I love it!’ I said. ‘I’ve never had great hair!’ ‘Are you kidding? People would kill for your hair.’” (93).

  5. Attribute: Livia comes from Britain to America, which makes her struggle to adapt. Beginning End Middle “We went past shops with neon signs saying drugstore and liquor store, and the traffic lights dangled from cables, and, of course, we were driving on the wrong side of the road.” “You said you liked riding on trains, so this is already probably the best date of your entire life.” (87). “’So, are you feeling ready to come home?’ she asked me. ‘Or have you fallen in love with America, too?’ Not with America, I thought.” (128).

  6. Evaluation: Is my book, Things I Know About Love a good example of realistic fiction? Yes, my book is a very good example of realistic fiction. Kate Le Vann successfully makes the setting realistic, even though she created the story with her imagination. Although the setting is in Britain, Kate manages to keep the similarities in their lives the same as in ours, so you can relate to what is going on in the novel. By the end of the novel, Livia figures out what is most important to her, and learns that you need to give everything a chance, including her biggest one, moving to another country.
