  3. Biotic Components • A biotic component is any living thing in an ecosystem. • Producers, consumers, and decomposers are all biotic components.

What is a Biotic Factor? • Biotic factors are created by the living organisms in an ecosystem • It is the result of the activities of all the living components in an ecosystem. • They effect the life of other organisms. • An example would be an animal eating its prey. The predator killed the prey, so it affected the life of the animal: its dead.
