  1. Version 2 The following presentation is intended to show existing version 1 Sentinel users how to use version 2. Many of the interfaces are still the same, but version 2 uses a ‘tab’ based system for more efficient completion of records and ‘intelligent navigation’ that turns fields/tabs on or off depending on the type of incident/accident being logged.

  2. LOG ON Use your ISS user name and Sentinel password (not your ISS password). If you have forgotten either contact Health & Safety Services on 34201

  3. Users View Click on the incident icon to log an incident / accident

  4. 1st Tab Users View leave blank Help text is provided for many fields Pink fields must be filled in

  5. 1st Tab Users View Navigation buttons New record Simple Search Save Current Record Attach Record (disabled) Print Record Home

  6. 1st Tab Users View Name of person completing record will auto-fill

  7. 1st Tab Users View Select incident type

  8. 1st Tab Users View Use arrows to expand selection Click on circles to select

  9. By selecting different incident options new tabs may be opened Ill Health tab is opened in people involved section

  10. Users View Work your way through each tab

  11. 2nd Tab If people are involved (injured party, witness, etc) then add the details More people can be added by using the add button

  12. Use drop downs to auto-fill fields

  13. Select the Faculty / School / Service that the person is associated with

  14. Once a persons details have been completed, use the save record button Back (no save) Save Record Add Record Delete Record

  15. 3rd Tab Use the Exact location field to give precise details Select the location where the incident / accident happened

  16. 3rd Tab Select the Faculty / School / Service that the incident / accident happened in

  17. 3rd Tab Remember not to refer to any individuals in this section by name, instead use “witness”, “IP” (injured party), etc. Fill in details (same as version 1)

  18. 3rd Tab Fill in remaining Details and save

  19. Record completed, a number will be assigned, and a blank record will appear If you do require further training, contact your Health & Safety Manager
