  2. History • Dr. Alice Green started the center in 1985 to serve the low income and disadvantaged population of Albany through education and advocacy.

  3. Our Mission • To promote the empowerment of individuals and communities to change social policy with a goal of creating equal opportunities for all people without regard to economic status, race or ethnicity.

  4. How We Accomplish Our Mission • Legal Information & Guidance • Crime Prevention, Street Smarts, & Youth Programs • Community Organizing • EMPOWERMENT

The Black Male Initiative • Est. 2009 as a product of a partnership between the Center for Law & Justice and Boys & Girls Club Siena VISTA’s • Pharaoh's Fraternity is a free junior fraternity for youth "brothers" of Albany.  "Brother's" or attendees obtain entrepreneurial, leadership, and life skills while having FuN, breaking down stereotypes, and participating in creative community based activities.
