    3. Cultural meaning (Franziska) The Statue of Liberty is very famous an everybody recognice it It is a signe for the USA After the 11the September 2001 George W. Bush was talk to the public with the Statue of Liberty behind him For the USA the Statue of Liberty is a Guard for America

History (Janina) French sculptor Frédéric Bartholdi was asked to sketch a statue with 1876   in the sense as a present of the French for the centennial of the American   assertion of the independence good-looking French widow of an American industrialist was visited to be the model of Bartholdi for the statue of the freedom the first model, on a small scale, was built in 1870.
