Search for LeptoQuarks Compositeness GUT SM DECAY MODES: Main search channels at the TEVATRON: (0<i<4: generation index) • PRODUCTION @ HADRON COLLIDERS: • q+qbar  LQ+LQbar • g+g  LQ+LQbar • q+g  LQ+l (smaller s) • s independent of l for SLQ • (except for single LQ) • =>s(aS,MSLQ) • s depends on 2 parameters kG and lG • for VLQ • =>s(aS,MVLQ, kG,lG) Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Search for SLQ2 • D0: • Analysis: LQ2 pairs mn+jets • Triggers: single m • Data sample: 1050 pb-1 • Instr. background: QCD from data • Event selection: • exactly 1 hard & isolated m • 2 hard jets and large mET • large mT(m, mET) and large HT • Main BKGD: W(mn)+jets • Uncert.: int. L, e(m), B norm., … • Results: • Hyp: 2b(1-b)=0.5 • Signal window: |mLQ +/-100 GeV| • Nobs= 6 • Nexp(B)=6.4+/-0.7 +/-0.8 • e(S)=7.9+/-0.1+/-0.7 • (mSLQ2 =200 GeV) Reco’d mSLQ2 mSLQ2>214 GeV Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Searches for VLQ3 pairs • CDF: • Analysis: • VLQ3 pairs 2t+2b • 1t  had., 1t  e/m • Data sample: 322 pb-1 • Triggers: • lepton+tracks • +1 hard e/m • +1 t-had • Event selection: • very large HT: • S pT(th)+pT(l)+pT(b)+pT(b)+mET • Uncert.: ISR, FSR, t-ID, isolation,… • Results: Hyp: Y-M coulings & b=100% e+thad m+thad mLQ3>251 GeV (Min. couplings) mLQ3>317 GeV (Y-M couplings) Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Search for Excited m • D0: • Analysis: qqbar  m*m  mm+g • Data sample: 380 pb-1 • Triggers: di-muons • Event selection: • 2 hard m (at least 1 isolated) • +1 hard & isolated g • Uncert.: trigger e, m reco & ID,… • Results: • m(m*)>618 GeV for L=1 TeV CI L (TeV) mmg Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007 mm* (GeV)

  11. Search for Excited e • D0: • Analysis: qqbar  e*e  ee+g • Data sample: 1 fb-1 • Triggers: single e & di-e • Event selection: • at least 2 hard & isolated e • +1 hard & isolated g (CC or EC) • optimization: m(eg) and DR(e2,g) • Uncert.: QCD estimation, g fake rate, PDF, … • Results: • m(e*)>756 GeV for L=1 TeV (CI) • m(e*)>793 GeV for L=m(e*) (CI) meg Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

  12. Inclusive Jet Cross Section • CDF: • Analysis: QCD ds/dydpT • Data sample: 1.04 fb-1 • Triggers: j20, j50, j70, j100 • Samples processing: • Theory: sNLOfrom EKS • Data: • particle lvl corr. + unfolding • parton lvl corr. • Event reconstruction: • midpoint 0.7 cone jets • Event selection: • |y|<2.1 • low mET significance • |zPV|<60 cm • Uncert.: PDF, scale, UE & fragm.,… • Results: • no explicit limit on comp. scale or m(q*) • yet, no excess at the highest pT ever probed Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Search for Z’ • Larger gauge group: E6 • Z’q=Zfcosq+Zcsinq • suppose SM-like couplings • Larger gauge group (E6, SO(10),…) • Hypotheses: • No gauge mixing • Same CKM as in SM • DK into light n Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Search for W’ • D0: • Analysis: W’en • Triggers: single e • Data sample: 900 pb-1 • Instr. background: QCD from data • Event selection: • at least 1 central, hard and isolated e • w/ track match (but no E/p) • large mET significance • Uncert.: norm., e corr., PDF, EM scale, QCDscaling,… • Results: • shape of mT tail above 150 GeV • Nobs= 630 • Nexp(B)=622.93+/-17.91+82.65-72.25 • Nexp(S)=16.64+/-0.39+6.86-6.06 • (mW’= 900 GeV) mW’>965 GeV Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

Search for Z’ • CDF: • Analysis: Z’ee (G2g) • Triggers: di-EM • Data sample: 1288 pb-1 • MC: • Signal (Pythia): • E6 (S=1) • and separately RS (S=2) • Physics BKGD (Pythia) • Main BKGD: g*/Zee • Event selection: • 2 hard & isolated e (CC-CC or CC-EC) • track match for CC e • Uncert.: lumi,PDF, ISR, e(e ID),… • Results: Mee tail above 150 GeV Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007

  18. IV. EXTENDED NUMBER OF SPACE DIMENSIONS g g g q GKK GKK g q f f V GKK GKK f f V SM monojets Extra-D 1. Search for Large Extra-Dimensions • ADD • 2 to 7 large (sub mm) EDs • gravity propagates freely in the bulk • KK excitations cannot be resolved • parameter: hG =F/MS4 (GRW: F=1) 2. Search for Randall-Sundrum Gravitons • RS • one 5th (infinite) ED with warped geometry • gravity is localized on a brane other than the • SM brane • KK excitations have spacings of order TeV • parameters: • M1: mass of the 1st KK excitation • 0.01 < k(8p)1/2/MPl < 0.1 Moriond QCD 2007 20 March 2007
