  6. Tonight’s APICS / ISM Presentation Preview It’s no secret today’s automotive landscape is very different than it was just a few years ago. What remains unclear at this time is the extent of change that is still yet to occur. As OEMs and suppliers continue to react to an unpredictable marketplace, what does the future hold for the automotive industry? Cal Vickers, the Senior Director of Purchasing for Nissan North America, Inc., will discuss how Nissan is responding to today’s automotive marketplace, Nissan’s development of strategic partnerships, and the potential that Nissan envisions for its future.

  7. Cal Vickers - Biography CALLEN C. (CAL) VICKERS Senior Director, Purchasing Nissan North America Cal Vickers is senior director of Purchasing for Nissan North America, Inc., responsible for purchasing planning, cost management and the management of distressed supplier situations for U.S. and Mexico manufacturing operations. For the past three years, Vickers has held the position of board member for the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Vickers joined Nissan in July 1982 as an engineer assigned to the Quality Assurance Department. After training in Japan, Vickers created and led the original Nissan Supplier Development activities. He also taught Kaizen-based techniques and shop floor management to Nissan’s supply chain partners. Prior to joining Nissan, Vickers was with General Motors Corporation working as a body shop engineer.
