  1. Dance Floor Project By: Ross King and Kyle Greulach

  2. Understand We had to follow and complete the following requirements: Light bulbs must light up by corresponding buttons Must light up light bulb 1 and 4 at the same time Must light up all light bulbs at the same time Dance Floor must look aesthetically pleasing

  3. Explore At first my partner and I had no idea how to start this project. Then we had a couple of ideas how to make the light bulbs and wires work. We thought to use electric tape to attach the light bulbs and wires. Thought of making a little station for the light bulbs

  4. Original Idea Wiring Blueprint

  5. Define We found the best solution to get the wire to attach to the light bulb is to solder them It also helped to solder the wire to some small metal rods to when the button is pressed the tin foil touches more of the metal rod so the current is connected We made cardboard buttons with tin foil on the bottom so when the tin foil touches the wires, it completes the circuit

  6. Ideate We found that soldering the wire to the metal rods and light bulbs was the smartest thing to do instead of taping them together. The metal rods provided us more surface area for the tin foil to connect and to complete the circuit

  7. Prototype We had to redo the button 1 & 4 ( light bulb 1 and 4 light up) because when we would press the 1 button the 4 button would also light up. We couldn’t figure out why this was happening, then Kyle found that some wires were connected that shouldn’t have been.

  8. Solutions When we finished the project everything were the way it should be. When we would press the 1 button the 1 light bulb would light up, when we would press the 2 button the 2 light bulb would light up. So on with button 3 and 4. Our upmost best accomplishment is when we would press the 1 & 4 button the 1 & 4 light bulb would light up. Same with the button 1,2,3,4, this lit up all the light bulbs

  9. Final Wiring Purple= Connected to Light 1 Green= Connected to Light 2 Red= Connected to Light 3 Blue= Connected to Light 4 Silver= Connected directly to the battery
