  1. This is a tutorial for setting up a gradebook and giving students and parents access to viewing their grades online if you decide to do so. Engrade • Online Gradebook

  2. Signing up for an account www.engrade.com Start by clicking on Sign-up

  3. Before we begin here are some other features, the most important being Engrade is...

  4. Click on Now enter your information.

  5. Creating a class After logging in you want to create your first class. Click on :my Classes” and select “create a new class” Select “create a new class”

  6. Name your class. Select the school year and grading period You can decide how to scale your grades

  7. First select if you wish to weigh your grades. Now you will decide on your “assignments” or test, quizzes, etc.

  8. Add Students I would suggest using their NCCS ID number Now you will enter your students with First and then Last name followed by an ID #

  9. Now create an assignment (test, quiz, etc.) by clicking on ..

  10. Now fill in the information..Notice the Category I also recommend a short description

  12. You then enter the grades manually

  13. There will be times you want a hard copy of your gradebook. Simply click on ..

  14. You now have two options for printing. One has no names.

  15. If you wish to have students and parents view their grades online then the first thing you do is print out Code Flyers.

  16. Cut-up and distribute

  17. Students now need to sign-up for an account

  18. Students set up an account at http://www.engrade.com/student-signup engrade-gcimorelli-12345 Students first type in the following, where the number is the ID number you assigned them

  19. Students will then select a usnername and password

  20. Many times the username is not available and they have to create another one

  21. They will then be asked to type in a word (for secure connections) and then the password they just created

  22. Students now check their grades http://www.engrade.com/login.php gwashington4

  23. Students may look at just their average as well as the grade on each assignment

  24. They should always then Log-Off

  25. What about parents?

  26. I suggest handing out the same flyers during open house The parent woulld then do the same to get their own username and password
