Welcome! • Introductions and key information • Timetable for the day • Market stalls throughout the day • Remember the Raffle!
2012-13 has been a very busy year! • Team review process • Currently collecting feedback from Learning Support Tutors about how you find your roles and how we can support you better. • Student Feedback being analysed • Focussing on one-to-one support and implementation of VOAM recommendations in schools • Here’s a sneak-peek of feedback about 1-2-1 learning support (e.g. LSTs, Mentoring, Academic Support). • A more detailed report will be put together later in the summer but I wanted to share the positivity…
I am able to identify and correct errors in my work more easily
I am managing my time better and meeting deadlines more easily
Why “Support in a digital age”? • Strategic Plan 2012-15 discusses the “Digital Transformation” of the university to harness new learning technologies and to foster student and staff engagement. • Reflecting students’ increased use and expectations of technology within their learning support • An opportunity to think creatively about opportunities and ideas presented by new technologies when improving our services
Starter for 10 • By way of introduction, 2 minutes with your neighbour: • What is your role for student support • How do technologies fit within this for you? • What do you hope to gain/find out from today
Many thanks Annie Carroll Disability Support Services Manager #digisupport2013 We hope you enjoy the conference!
