P3 describe, with examples of destinations, European leisure experiences and their appeal to customer types • On the next slide you will be given 5 different customers that want to go on five different leisure trips in Europe. • Your job is to come up with 3 suggestions for each customer as to where they might go to achieve their leisure aim. • That’s 15 destinations in total!!! • Each destination (for each customer type) must be in a different European country. Example – hen weekend in Paris, Dublin or Barcelona. • You must state; • Which countries and city you are suggesting. • How the destination meets the need of the customer type. • Give a suggestion not only of the leisure activity they will be taking part in but of something else that they could do in that destination. • An example of the accommodation that they could chose.

  3. Customer types Customer 1: (group) A group of women who need to organise an exciting hen weekend. Customer 2: (group) A group of men who want to go and see a major sporting event. Customer 3: (family) A family with teenage children looking for a summer holiday somewhere where they can go hill walking and white water rafting. Customer 4: (couple) An older couple that want to go on a European cruise. Customer 5: (solo traveller) A University art student that wants to go and visit somewhere with lots of culture.

P3 describe, with examples of destinations, European leisure experiences and their appeal to customer types P3 requires learners to recommend different destinations to meet customer needs for specific leisure experiences. Learners must recommend three destinations to meet customer needs for each of five different leisure experiences. Destinations must differ from those selected for P2. Each example must be from a different European country and between them the examples must cover the specified range of customer types. This could be assessed by a series of practical written scenarios or role plays provided by the tutor; for example, a family with teenage children looking for a summer destination that will provide opportunities for adventure activities including white-water rafting and caving, or a group of women planning an exciting city break for a hen party. It is recommended that learners produce written recommendations for three suitable destinations for each leisure experience and that they clearly indicate how these destinations meet customer needs.
