  2. N95 Respirator Mask Types: Basic Information The N95 is the most common set of particulate respirator masks, which follow the requirements of the United States government. NIOSH-the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health-is evaluating the face masks to minimize sensitivity to chemical contaminates.
