  2. Numerology is the study of the occult meanings of numbers and their influence on human life. Numerology is a complex arithmetic system that reveals your character, personality, and experience through the reasonable progression of numbers. Numerology provides a complete personality lifestyle profile when we apply the meaning of individual numbers to our birth name and birth date. Your name and your birth date are the data base from which a numerologist is able to describe you, sight unseen. Number values are assigned to the letters in your name. By adding these--with the numbers in your birth date – in a multitude of combinations, a numerologist establishes your key numbers. He or she then interprets the meaning of these key numbers, which results in a complete description of your personal characteristics. The numbers of our name describe the things we were born knowing. The numbers of our birth date describe the things we need to learn. As you examine your Numerology Reading, you'll find a great deal of insight about yourself.

  3. The two most popular methods of numerology are Pythagorean and Chaldean. Though each is a different system, with distinct differences, they both are in agreement on certain things. Pythagorean System • Letters converted using nos. 1 to 9 • Started about 600 BCE • Sometimes called Modern Numerology • More popular because easier to use • Gives a more materialistic meaning • Uses full name given at birth • Conversion is done in sequence • Pythagoras a mathematician used it • All compound numbers reduce to single numbers. Chaldean System – For this presentation we will use the Pythagorean System. Elements of the Chaldean System are: • Letters converted using nos. 1 to 8 • Sometimes called Mystic Numerology • Harder to use than Pythagorean system • Gives an occult or mystical meaning

  4. Pythagorean Conversion Chart

  5. How to convert your numbers Let us explain. Say, for example, that you're name was John Doe. You're name number would be 8. Confused? It's really not that difficult. First you write out the name: John Doe The next step is to find the numerological values of each letter in the name: J o h n D o e 1 6 8 5 4 6 5 Now add the numbers together: 1+6+8+5+4+6+5 = 35 And finally, add the result numbers together: 3+5 = 8 It's as simple as that!

  6. Converting Numbers It is also possible to figure you're birth number with numerology. For instance, if you were born on June 11, 1962. Write out the date in numbers: 6 11, 1962 Then figure normally: 6+1+1+1+9+6+2 = 26 = 8 You're birth number would be 8. Note it is very important that you do not forget the 19 in 1962, because there are still people who were born in the late 1800's, and the 2000's are rapidly approaching.

  7. Numerology and Divination In order to use numerology for divination, you have two be given a specific information. Here is one scenario: You are Sally Jones. Your Boyfriend, Rick Albertson and you have just decided to get married. You know that the marriage stands a good chance of surviving, because you're birth numbers match. Now you can use numerology to help you decide on a name for your children, where to live, what date to have the marriage ceremony on, and even what color drape to have in your house! As you can see from the above example, numerology goes far beyond the uses I have explained here, and there are many books available on the topic. We also have two wonderful courses on Numerology. NU-100 Basic Numerology and NU-101 advanced Numerology

It has much intensity, so caution is needed wherever it appears to ensure that extremes are not encountered. Color: Positive = White / Negative = Black Zero represents the Cosmic Egg, the primordial Androgyne – the Plenum. Zero as an empty circle depicts both the nothingness of death and yet the totality of life contained within the circle. As an ellipse the two sides represent ascent and descent, evolution and involution. Limitless, Unknowable, No-thing, Boundless, Truth, Purity, Love, All, Alpha and Omega, Possibility, First Cause, Un-manifest, Breath of God, Unified Field, Source, Space, Consciousness, Cosmic Egg, God Before the One (meaning the Source – not the number) there is only Void, or non-being; thought; the ultimate mystery, the incomprehensible Absolute. Begins with meanings such as, Non-existence; nothingness; the un-manifest; the unlimited; the eternal. The absence of all quality or quantity.

  18. Master Numbers There are 3 double-digit numbers that, while they are rooted in the single-digit numbers, require special emphasis and attention. These are 11, 22, and 33. They are called Master numbers because they possess more potential than other numbers. They are highly charged, difficult to handle, and require time, maturity, and great effort to integrate into one's personality.

  19. 11 – IDEALIST: artist, celebrity, highly energized INSPIRATION, psychological, radical, sensitive The 11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It represents illumination; a channel to the subconscious; insight without rational thought; and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness, and impracticality. It is a dreamer. The 11 has all the aspects of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma, leadership, and inspiration. It is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism, inner conflict, and other catalyses with its mere presence. It is a number that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward to create fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Its potential for growth, stability, and personal power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but in faith. It is the psychic's number. • Gifts: Revealing higher truths, transformation, poetic interpretation, romance • Challenges: Illusion, isolation, allergies, over-stimulation • Personal Goal: Living the dream • Fears: Drudgery, restriction, ugliness, boredom • Succeeds as: Media star, poet, inventor, psychologist, minister, designer, society figure, beauty queen, occultist

  20. 22 – MASTER BUILDER: Idealistic, expansive, visionary, master-builder, government, universal transformation. Philanthropic The 22 is the most powerful of all numbers. It is often called the Master Builder. The 22 can turn the most ambitious of dreams into reality. It is potentially the most successful of all numbers. It has many of the inspirational insights of the 11, combined with the practicality and methodical nature of the 4. It is unlimited, yet disciplined. It sees the archetype, and brings it down to earth in some material form. It has big ideas, great plans, idealism, leadership, and enormous self-confidence. If not practical, the 22s waste their potential. Like the 11, the 22 can easily shrink from its own ambition, causing difficult interior pressures. Both the 11 and the 22 experience the pressure-cooker effect very strongly, particularly at an early age. It must work toward the realization of goals that are larger than personal ambition. The 22 serves the world in a practical way. • Gifts: Inspire others, common sense, intuitive, practical • Challenges: Share your vision, allow others to make contributions • Personal Goal: Integrate seemingly conflicting characteristics within yourself-your inspiring vision and natural tendency toward practicality. • Fears: Loss • Succeeds as: Politician, business owner, lawyer, administrator

  21. 33 – MASTER TEACHER: Christ-like, healer, compassionate, blessing, teacher of teachers, martyr, inspiration, honest, monk. The 33 is the most influential of all numbers. It is the Master Teacher. The 33 combines the 11 and the 22 and brings their potential to another level. When expressed to the fullest, the 33 lacks all personal ambition, and instead focuses its considerable abilities toward the spiritual uplifting of mankind. What makes the 33 especially impressive, is the high level of sincere devotion. This is shown in its determination to seek understanding and wisdom before preaching to others. The 33 in full force is extremely rare. The number 33 only matters when found among the core numbers: The Life Path, Heart's Desire, Expression, Personality, Maturity number, or as an Essence cycle or Pinnacle cycle. In all other cases the 33 should be reduced to a 6. The fact that the 33 is extra-ordinary demanding and rare can be seen symbolically in the methods of calculation. For example, a 33 Life Path can happen only when each of the 3 units of the birth date (month/year/day) add to 11. Or when the year adds to 22 (in the 20th century there are only 7 years that add to 22: 1939, 48, 57, 66, 75, 84, and 93) and the month and day of birth combined total is 11. And finally, when the birth day is 22 and the month and year of birth total 11. • Gifts: Honesty, discipline, bravery • Challenges: Requires self-sacrifice, courage • Personal Goal: Searching for the truth • Fears: Lack of resources and love • Succeeds as: Parent, educator, Artist, Doctor

  22. Personality Traits Day of Birth: The Day of Birth is the first personal number we are aware of, one which we quickly learn to identify. It is a powerful indicator of your point of view and general stance in the world. In reading a chart, always look first at the birth date to give you a point of reference. Use the Day of Birth to identify your general characteristic and look to see how it is supported (or overridden) by your other major numbers. If the Day of Birth does not seem to fit, it may be that the major number totals affect it in unexpected ways. Birthpath: Who am I? What do I do best? What are my natural abilities? The answers to these questions are found in your Birthpath number. This number indicates who you are as you begin life – your natural tendencies, your abilities, and your attitude toward the world. It is the unchangeable aspect of your chart and therefore denotes your basic and eternal qualities. Even though you may have the same Birthpath number as someone else, differences in the month, day and/or year will account for variations you may see between their attitudes and yours. The lessons of your month number dominate your life until approximately age 28. The lessons of your day of the month dominate your life until approximately age 56. The lessons of your year number dominate your life after age 56.

  23. Destiny: What is my goal in life? What will I be most successful doing? What is the best direction to take? What will be my major accomplishment?Your Destiny number describes what you have been born to accomplish the mission or purpose you must fulfill. Your opportunities, your environment and your inner resources are directly related to your Destiny number. It is what you must do. The Destiny number is derived from the reduced number totals of each of your names. It is important to remember that your Destiny is the area that must be explored, mined and developed in order for your soul to continue its progress. Your first name gives you the most personal lessons; your middle name often contains hidden abilities you do not consciously try to develop (or ones you do not like); and your last name carries the characteristics shared by your whole family. Additional support for your Destiny may come from one or more of your Pinnacles, the four numbers governing particular phases of your life. If one of your Pinnacles is the same as your Destiny number, this will be a favorable time for you to accomplish or make significant progress toward your life's goals. Realization: The question, "What will be my major accomplishment?"is answered by your Realization number. It differs from the Destiny in that it describes what you will accomplish due to the combination of who you are (Birthpath) and what opportunities you are given (Destiny). Its influence is felt increasingly as you grow older.

  24. Heart’s Desire: What motivates me? What is most important to me? How do I make my decisions? The Heart's Desire reflects the foundation of your beliefs and attitudes towards life. It describes your inner motivations, your values and how you set your priorities. This number is very important in the chart, since it indicates how you may handle your Destiny number. The Heart's Desire is your instinctive knowing; its meaning is not always apparent to the outside world, and sometimes even you may be unaware of its impact. But look back on some of the major turning points in your life. What choices did you make at the time? For example, in your last job decision did you opt for great working conditions, improved status, or a higher salary? These are indications of your Heart's Desire. It is important to compare your Heart's Desire number with the other positions on your chart to see how they might influence one another. Sometimes there is a conflict, particularly if the Heart's Desire is incompatible with the Destiny and/or Birthpath. In these cases, the Heart's Desire may drain energy from the others. By contrast, if your Heart's Desire is compatible, you will have increased chances for success.

  25. Personality: How do people see me? What impression do I give? Your Personality number reveals how you appear to others. The people around you – coworkers, friends, family – may not know your Destiny or Heart's Desire, but chances are they can describe you and your attributes. This is the information revealed in the Personality number. Unlike other major numbers, which may define deep, seldom glimpsed traits, your Personality number may even describe a social mask you use to protect yourself. Habit Challenge: What habitual response do I have that might be considered negative? The Habit Challenge defines an area of your personality you may wish to improve: a tendency, which, when unbalanced, can become too much of a good thing; or a weak aspect you should develop. The challenge is to balance yourself between the two extremes of the Habit Challenge number. For instance, if your Habit Challenge is a Two, you are either too sensitive and timid (letting others make your decisions) or you need to practice more cooperation and sensitivity. It is not unusual that a person tends to exhibit both sides of the polarity depending on circumstances.

  26. Specialties and Missing Numbers: What are my special talents and abilities? Is my name unusually weighted in any direction? Am I missing any traits? While your major numbers (such as Destiny and Birthpath) are patterns that guide and mold your overall direction in life, there are other positions on the chart that exert their influence at the everyday level. The components of your name, Specialties and Missing numbers, determine your reactions to people, events and situations. Looking at the distribution of numbers in your name will give you the rhythm and texture of your temperament. This information is especially important to consider in long-term relationships and job commitments. Balance of Temperament: How do I operate at the everyday level? The Planes of Expression, Physical, Mental, Emotional and Intuitive, organize your responses to everyday environments and prompt you to make certain choices (which reflect your Heart's Desire). The Balance of Temperament is determined by examining where the components of your name fit among these four Planes. For example, you may have already decided that you are an "emotional" person; or you may be known for strong mental liabilities. You may describe someone as being intuitive or the "earthy" type.

  27. The Pinnacles: Is marriage in my future? What are the financial prospects for my business? Should I have my own business or work for others? Will my financial conditions improve? The Pinnacles of your chart describe your response to the environment, people, events and experiences you will encounter during their influence. The Pinnacles and their corresponding Challenges represent the four major phases of your lifetime. Generally, the Pinnacle number is considered a benevolent force. The Pinnacles must always be considered in light of your major numbers, especially the Destiny and the Birthpath. As you read about your Pinnacles, you must ask how they help, obstruct, constrict, expand, or complement the other numbers?

  28. The Challenges: Why are things so hard? Why do I have recurring problems? What weak points will need to be developed? What can my setbacks, difficulties teach me?While the Pinnacles describe the events and environment of your life, the corresponding Challenges describe the inner limitations, fears, or handicaps with which you may be grappling while their influence is in effect. As you read the descriptions for your four individual Challenges, keep in mind the following. • If your Challenge is the same as your Destiny, you may experience trouble in finding the right vocation or place in life. At the same time, you will be presented with the means to develop the characteristics you need to carry out your Destiny. Your efforts will not be wasted. • If your Challenge is the same as your Birthpath, chances are you will find that you possess the resources necessary to make this a fruitful time. • If your Challenge is the same as your Heart's Desire, you will be highly motivated to tackle your weak spots and acquire the necessary training to overcome any obstacles to success. • If your Challenge is the same as your Personality, you may find that you exhibit the aspects of the number so intensely that people do not readily accept you. For example, if your Challenge and Personality are Four, you may be entirely too stubborn and resistant to get along with others.
