  6. ByJane LundgrenFranklin Township SchoolQuakertown, New JerseyU. S. A. • When I was in kindergarten I lived in Philadelphia. Instead of driving or taking the bus to school, I rode a bicycle. • Every day we (my dad and I) would pass the Philadelphia Art Museum. I thought that it was gorgeous. It had stone pillars that reminded me of the White House. I had always wondered what the “White House” held. Once I found out I was desperate to go inside.

  7. ByJane LundgrenFranklin Township SchoolQuakertown, New JerseyU. S. A. Finally, near Christmas, I got the chance. The Art Museum was everything that I thought it would be. I saw beautiful paintings and sculptures. This is Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflower painting.

  8. ByJane LundgrenFranklin Township SchoolQuakertown, New JerseyU. S. A. • . My family even took our Christmas card picture there. I was amazed by the height and that people could get lights and decorations all the way to the top. With all of its charm and beauty, I was sure that the Philadelphia Museum of Art was the best Museum in the world! • But, the paintings were not all the attraction that the Art Museum held for me. Every year there was a huge Christmas tree put up so once I was done with the inside I got to go outside and see the giant Christmas tree

  9. This is the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Building or, as I call it, The New Art Museum • During the last summer that I lived in Philadelphia, they started to build another art museum right across the street from the old one because there was so much art. I left Philadelphia before the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Building (the new art museum) was finished. I hope that someday I will be able to see the Ruth and Raymond Perlman Building.

  25. Language Arts The Way We Study Foreign Languges • Our class, from Dover Elementary in Westlake, Ohio would like to share information on foreign language in our school. • Currently, we teach only English in our school which ranges in ages from 5-10 years old. Next year we are going to start introducing Spanish and French in the school. Since our student population is young, we will start in kindergarten (ages 5 and 6) with common words in Spanish and French such as hello, goodbye, friend, etc… • Each year after, the language lessons will develop further, until students will be able to speak more fluently in either Spanish or French. Our hope is to help immerse students in not only their culture, but the culture of others so that they have a more global understanding of the world.
