Deadlines for registration 6 registration dates: 1st of January submit thesis: 1st of June 1st of March submit thesis: 1st of August 1st of April submit thesis: 1st of September 1st of June submit thesis: 1st of November 1st of August submit thesis: 1st of January 1st of October submit thesis: 1st of March After registration: 5 months to write your thesis After submission of your thesis: 1 month for evaluation and oral defence Three attempts at passing the thesis: Modified thesis synopsis and a new deadline of three months

Allocation of academic supervisor • Prepare a proposal for a thesis synopsis (1/2 page) - tentative title - tentative problem statement - tentative research approach (methods/theory) - tentative description of data basis, if relevant • Fill in ”Form for allocation of academic supervisor” • Submit proposal and form to the department secretaries - Deadline is 1 month before the registration deadline - Note: Deadline is June 15th if you plan to register 1st of August • Your programme coordinator will then allocate a supervisor - You are free to make a request for a specific supervisor

  6. Thesis registration (= examregistration) • Prepare the thesis synopsis - tentative title - tentative problem statement - tentative research approach approx. 1 page - tentative description of data basis, if relevant - tentative outline - tentative list of litterature • Prepare a plan for the thesis process (goals for each month) • Fill in ”Thesis registration”. It must be signed by you and your supervisor. • Submit thesis registration form with thesis synopsis and plan to the department secretaries before the registration deadline.

  7. Thesesprepared in groups, scope of the thesis and oral defence: • The thesis may be prepared in groups of max. 3 students • Scope: - 1 student: 50-80 standard pages (2.200 characters, no spaces) - 2 students: 75-120 standard pages - 3 students: 100-150 standard pages • Scope: Excl. table of contents, literature list, abstract and appendices, but incl. notes. • Length of the abstract: Max. 2 standard pages. • Individual oral exam: 45 min.

THESIS ONLINE – HOW TO SUBMIT: • Register and upload your thesis at theses@bss.dk • Print the receipt for your upload/registration (= proof that you have uploaded/registered) Any questions: contact the Library • Submit at BSS Study Service, Tåsingegade 3, building 1443, room 021 • A copy of the mail receipt from Theses@bss • 2 printed copies of your thesis • 3 completed copies of the form 'Submission of master's thesis'

Space reserved for thesiswriters • Study portal  teaching and examination  Study environment and facilities  Study spaces, group work & places for thesis students • Nobel library or library at Bartholins Allé in 1351 in the University park, • Registration forms  Thesis writing seats in the R-building (15 seats for the students with the highest grade point average from 1st and 2nd semester) • AU Library, Fuglsangs Allé  Practical information  Booking of study carrels  study carrel when you are writing your master thesis (30 seats – first come, first served)
