MIA HAMM. MIA HAMM was born on March 17 , 1972 in Selma, Alabama. When Mia was three she learned to play soccer. When her parents moved to Texas in 1977, they adopted Garret, an eight year old orphan. In 1989 to 1993 Mia played for the North Carolina Tar Heels and scored 103 goals.

  4. When her parents moved to Texas in 1977, they adopted Garret, an eight year old orphan.

  5. In 1989 to 1993 Mia played for the North Carolina Tar Heels and scored 103 goals.

  6. In 1991, she was the youngest player to win the World Cup.

  7. Hamm married Christian Corry from 1994 to 2001.

  8. In 1996 she won the gold metal at the Summer Olympics.

  9. In 1991 she founded in the Mia Hamm foundation.

  10. Mia got re-married to a pro baseball player named NomarGarciparra in 2003.

  11. Hamm retired to start a family in 2004.

  12. At the age of 41, Mia is still alive and kicking.
