The College owns and upholds professional standards, providing professional services to help meet the standards,& champions social work. • The regulator sets the standards of public protection, approves initial/ qualifying training and AMHP training against these standards. • Trade Unions & Professional Associations provide employment and conduct hearing representation and advice.

A Voice for Social Work – Creating a more balanced, informed view of social work in the media, promoting coverage of good things social workers do as well as intelligent comment when things go wrong. Ultimately we believe this will help the wider public to understand exactly what social work is all about

  8. So what will it cost me? Try before you buy - Join now and receive FREE access to our services until 31 March 2012. Monthly subscriptions from April 2012: • £5.00 - Full Membership for qualified and/or registered social workers • £7.50 - Full Membership plus public liability insurance for independent social workers. Annual Subscriptions: • £30 - Associates. £10 - Students.

Help us to shape the development of The College: • Join us today for FREE – visit www.tcsw.org.uk and click on the ‘Join’ tab on the homepage. • Work with us to develop Communities of Interest • Stand for selection for the Transitional Assembly and develop a Community of Practice • Become a Media Spokesperson and give social work a voice • Train as a College Mentor and offer your professional support and expertise to other social workers • Become an expert for our Helpdesk: Knowledge at The College. *After the initial selection process, Media spokespeople and Mentors will receive full training and support from TCSW. This will contribute towards your CPD & PRTL requirements
