  2. Do’s of Test Preparation 5 a. Conduct test preparation practices that are in accordance with the generally accepted ethical standards of the education profession. b. Teach, practice, and assess the DoDEA standards, during regular instruction. c. Train students in “test-taking” skills such as marking answer sheets, making optimal guesses, and general strategies for subject area and item formats. d. Review general test directions and procedures prior to the test.

  3. Do’s of Test Preparation 6 e.Give students practice taking a test under timed conditions during regular classroom instruction. f.  Use approved preparation materials, such as the test publisher’s Practice Activities and the Teacher’s Guide to TerraNova.

  4. a. Develop a curriculum based on specific the content of the test. b. Develop, teach, and/or practice curriculum objectives based solely on the content objectives of the test. c. Use preparation materials beyond the DoDEA approved materials. d. Stop all regular instruction weeks or days prior to the test and teach just those concepts and content objectives on the test.   6. During Test Administration Do a. Allow teachers to keep test materials in their own rooms during testing as long as the materials can be secured. b. Follow test publisher’s Directions for Teachers and the directions of the assessment coordinator. c.  Count all materials before students are released after a test session. d.
