  1. Cayuse - How do I update opportunities?

  2. After you log into Cayuse, go to your “Admin” tab. NOTE: your PI does not have an “Admin” tab; instead, (s)he has a “Preferences” tab. Click on the “Update Opportunity List” hyperlink Updating the Opportunity List

  3. The next screen will list all of the opportunities currently downloaded into the Cayuse database. If you do not see the opportunity listed, find the opportunity number and put it in the “Opportunity Number” box. Or, put in the CFDA number instead.

  4. Press “Retrieve Opportunities” button and wait while Cayuse contacts the Grants.gov server for the application packet.

  5. The window will refresh and provide a status update message. If the message states “1 opportunities updated…” the opportunity should appear in the list. If the opportunity is supported, the PI can use Cayuse to apply.

  6. Unsupported opportunities have a yellow triangular icon with an exclamation mark immediately to the left. If your opportunity is unsupported, the PI will have to use Grants.gov forms to apply for funding. How do I know if the opportunity is supported?
