  2. All About Weatherboards • Weatherboards offer safety against a variety of factors, including sea spray and the harsh, unpredictable Australian weather. The planks are fastened to the frame or building horizontally, with the board above overlapping the board below to create an exquisite shadow line. Because they don't flex or warp before installation, can be precisely cut, and need less frequent painting, fibre cement weatherboards are frequently preferred by architects to natural timber weatherboards. Weatherboards made of fibre cement are also resistant against damage caused by termites, rot, fire, and dampness. Construction in bushfire-prone areas and the use of fire and acoustic wall technologies work well together.
