  6. Metaphors of teaching…an effective way to guide, represent, and tie our philosophy together.

  7. Keep the line of communication open…

  8. Engage our learners…just as we like to be engaged in our own learning…

  9. Cooperative groups provide valuable learning opportunities for our students.

  11. Create social networks…online and F2F…have our students collaborate and build… If the bum is numb…the brain is the same. Include a variety of media to engage your students. The brain needs meaning, relevance, novelty & emotion.

  12. Our syllabus is a road map…not a contract.

  13. Recognize, respect, and plan for the whole spectrum of learners…

  14. Information literacy and academic integrity is critical…

  15. Remember to have fun in our teaching and learning…(we all have ‘red’)

  16. We have many supports in place to guide us in our journey…

  17. Librarians are a wonderful resource for our students and for us!

  18. Students can’t plagiarize if they are required to ‘transform’ their information…

  19. Educators must critically reflect on our own teachingbecause what we believe is what we create.

  20. All things new and different present new challenges but also offer many possibilities...

  21. Storytelling is a powerful instructional strategy to help us to understand different ways of being and knowing…
