  4. Spreading XIST (Gene) Encodes=> RNA XIC XIC Once the RNA is encoded by the xist, the rna coats the chromosome enacting it to compact

  5. Once the X Chromosome completely changes shape, it is called a Barr Body.

  6. Maintenance The Bar Body is replicated like the activated X Chromosome, though it essentially stays inactive.

  7. Keep in mind, any cell that derives from this cell will have the same X Chromosome inactivated.
