  2. Why the Act went into effect: • Number of Scope of Practice Proposals • Time spent by Legislators on Scope Issues • Short CT Legislative Sessions compared to other States

  3. Process: • Request submitted by 8/15 of prior Legislative Session. • General Assembly’s Public Health Committee notified within a month of initial request • Rebuttals by impacted organizations accepted • Within two weeks requestor MUST respond to DPH and anyone who submitted an impact statement. • DPH Decision

  4. Impact in Connecticut • Allows Family Physicians to be part of the process • Creates efficiency for Legislators on Scope issues by allowing health care professionals to research and make recommendations
